Acupuncture treatments

I integrate my professional experience and knowledge about the body with my training of traditional Chinese Medicine to offer a comprehensive treatment that will address your chief complaint and current health issues. Whether you are looking for pain relief or you want to improve your sleep or bring vitality back to your face we will get to the root of why your body is out of balance. Let’s achieve your health goals together through a holistic lens.

Acupuncture treatments using a traditional Chinese medicine approach, has been used to help maintain health and wellness for over 4000 years. Treatments include acupuncture needling and may also include other modalities such as cupping, moxibustion, tuina, gua sha and eastern dietary therapy. It helps to unblock Qi (Chi) and balance the yin and yang energies within the body. Acupuncture can refocus the healing potential of the body, it is non-invasive or painful. Acupuncture and cosmetic acupuncture treatments can complement Western medicine and is covered by many insurance plans.

Help improve your skin tone, address puffy eyes, dark circles, acne, scars, wrinkles and fine lines. Bringing a brighter glow and vitality to the face. This ancient system for skin care is a great holistic alternative to modern procedures for the face such as surgical facelifts or Botox/fillers. Tiny, sterilized needles inserted beneath the skin surface helps to remove blockages within the meridians, increasing circulation and blood flow to the face and stimulating collagen and elastin production. It can also help address TMJ issues, chronic headaches and Bells Palsy. We may also use complimentary modalities such as gua sha and facial cupping to continue lifting and tightening the skin.

My Acupuncture Tools

Acupuncture is the stimulation of Qi flow throughout the body with the insertion of thin stainless steel needles into specific sites on the body, bringing the body back into balance, protecting us from the impacts of daily life and disease.

Tuina is a therapeutic massage that helps relax tight muscle areas and facilitate the body’s natural healing process. The muscles and tendons are massaged with the hands, elbows, forearms or fingers to help affect the flow of qi at different acupressure points of the body.

Cupping is used to break up stagnation, drawing congested blood, energy or other humors to the surface of the skin.  Gentle suction helps to remove toxins, move lymph fluids and oxygenates the blood, providing a relaxing sensation.

Food provides valuable nourishment needed by all parts of the body.  Eastern dietary therapy is used therapeutically to help support our constitution, balance yin and yang energies and encourage the free flow of qi.

Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine technique involving the burning of an herb called mugwart.  It helps to expel cold, improve flow of blood and qi and helps to facilitate healing, maintaining health and wellness.

Gua Sha

Gua sha is the gentle scraping of the skin until a therapeutic petechiae is reached (temporary redness on the skin).  Any redness or bruising dissipates naturally after a couple of days. It helps to reduce tightness, relieve pain, improve circulation and break up scar tissue or adhesions in the muscles and tissue.

Where there is good movement, Qi will flow!
