Why Pilates with Cindy?

At Pilates with Cindy, whole body health is our mission. We take a multi discipline, holistic approach to your health and wellness, focusing on the whole body not just parts of it.

Pain management, prevention and maintenance are a few key elements we address at Pilates with Cindy.  Active aging and functional strength training is our motivation during each Pilates/movement session.

We want you to enjoy the activities you love to do with ease and efficiency.

Good food is also important for good health. Holistic nutrition consultations focus on eating a whole foods diet, offering personalized programs that help to support, maintain and build the whole body.

Acupuncture treatments, from a traditional Chinese medicine perspective, aims to bring the body back into balance. It relieves pain or discomfort, reduces stress, harmonizes digestion and so much more. Enjoy a relaxing treatment in a calm and restful environment.

I began my movement journey as a 4 year old taking ballet, jazz and tap lessons.  As a teenager I began teaching dance classes to people of all ages and began my career performing in dance shows around Toronto.   After graduating from Ryerson with a diploma in Theatre Dance, I started dancing and choreographing professionally, working in film and tv and musical theatre productions all over the world.

It was in my 20s that I started training in the Pilates method (over 25 years ago) to help my body stay strong, balanced and quick to recover from injury during my career.

When I retired from dancing, I moved to Vancouver to become a certified Pilates instructor and taught at the Vancouver Pilates Centre.  I then studied at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition and certified to become an R.H.N (Registered Holistic Nutritionist).

Moving back to Toronto to begin my own Pilates studio, I knew I wanted to study Chinese medicine.  Four years later and lots of hard work, I graduated with honours and later received my acupuncture licence. 

Cindy's Bio

Cindy has had an exceptionally impressive career as a Pilates teacher and professional dancer and choreographer.  She has worked at the prestigious Stratford Festival and several other theatres across Canada and the U.S..  Cindy has over 25 years of experience teaching dance and Pilates to professional dancers, NHL players, little children and active grandparents.  She has been influenced and shaped by master teachers including Dianne Miller, Irene Dowd and Eileen Birks.  Cindy is a certified Pilates Instructor, a registered holistic nutritionist and a registered acupuncturist.

The Studio

My bright and charming studio is in the heart of Greektown, minutes from the Chester subway station.  I teach private and semi private Pilates classes designed to strengthen, lengthen and support your whole body.  I also offer personalized holistic nutrition consulting and acupuncture therapy as valuable tools to help you reach your health goals.

My aim is to offer services that will improve your health, both in the short and long term.   Any service can be used individually or in combination with each other.
